I HEART SACHAJUAN!

I absolutely LOVE this hair care brand, i have been tweeting about it for weeks. The two main points about hair products that go in my kit with me too shoots are obviously do they actually work and do they look good. SACHAJUAN ticks both of those boxes for me and unlike most products there is not too much hype around it, it does its job extremely well and looks good at the same time, it must be something to do  with its sweedish origins with under stated style. Two of my favourite products are below, the colour save shampoo and conditioner which my clients adore and the volumising spray, which i literally run out of in two weeks. Its much like the OSIS powder that creates volume when you rub it in to your hair but because its a spray it much easier to target the roots, and if you have extremely flat hair like me thats where you need it! They also have a body range which i have yet to try but if its anything like the hair care range i cant wait! Stocked at Liberty London

IT'S A CHELSEA THING!

It was my pleasure to make over the Made In Chelsea girls for River Island "Chelsea Girl" shoot. They were lovely girls, very down to earth and we had a great day and got some amazing shots. Heres some behind the scene pics and products used.

RIVER ISLAND LIVE SHOOT!!

Just before xmas i did a live shoot with River Island and their amazing press manager and celebrity stylist Arieta Mujay. Heres some of the looks myself and my team created for the shoot.
Creating a simple look, flawless skin with Bobbi Brown's  Skin Foundation SPF 15.  Darkening the eyebrows to create more definition with Mac's Penultimate Brow definer. Cheeks we kept fresh with my absolute favourite creme blush by Yves Saint Laurent Fuchsia Temptation. On the lips we used Mac's Lipstick in HUE. And finally adding lashes by Ardell in Demi Black.
This is a great daytime look and can be made more prominent by using bigger lashes or darkening the eyebrows for a more dramatic look if your taking it into the evening.

Here i added a strong lip to the evening wear using Chanel Rouge Allure in L'esquise and adding Ardell Lashes 113 for definition on the top lash line. This is one of my FAVOURITE lipstick ever. It has a velvet/matt finish and looks amazing with blue eyes and drak hair!
I roughly rolled the hair and secured with bobby pins. The hair was very fine and fly away so i used Osis Dust Powder through the mid lengths and roots to create movement with a matt finish. This product is a must have in my own hair kit and on set kit.

RIVER ISLAND A/W backstage!

Myself and four assistants dragged ourselves out to hanger lane for an amazing two days at River Island HQ this week. First day we had 9 female models with two looks and second day we had 5 male models.
Two very different days and both great!
Look 1: Nude eyes, clear skin, strong lip and contouring.

Our hair stylist Jess taming a mane!

Look 2: Metallic smokey eye, perfect skin and nude lip.
All over the catwalk for this season and a great party look with a twist. Its a basic smokey eye with gold pigment blended from the inner corner to into the lid. We used Barry M pigment and MAC "old gold" For a real xmas party look add the glitter with MACs mixing medium to the inner corner to make the eyes pop.

Massive bed head and quiffs for the boys!

BOB & PIXIE GELDOF's birthday party!!!!!

OMG! When my friend Jo Adams asked me to work on Bob & Pixie Geldofs joint birthday party of course i said "hell yes!"
I was brimming with excitement the morning of this job and i was not disappointed! The set up for the party was unreal, it was like a giant festival in their idyllic back garden ( massive BTW). Old fashioned hot dog stands, palm readers, performers and a rumor of Fergie playing in the evening. We had a whole trailer to ourselves, but it was like an oven in there so we mainly worked outside in the field until the mosquitos attacked.
Our theme was southern sluts and glamourous girls. There was wigs, hair pieces and i applied so many false lashes that day it was laughable!
Our look for southern sluts consisted of orange, pink, lilac and mauve eye shadows, all MAC, blended messily into each other, flaring out to the temple. This gave a feeling of DIY make up for the sexy sluts. We also added very high pigment pink blush on the highest point of the the cheek bone, blending into the eyeshadow on the temples.

This look below was for one of the slutty bar staff.  I gave her a really light base as her skin was already clear.  Her eyes began with black kohl eyeliner all over lid, then patted high pigment purple eyeshadow all over top of eyeliner. I then added glitter mixed with MACs medium mixing fluid, to the rest of eyelid and brow bone, for an real theatrical edge! Then obviously the biggest eyelashes i could find!

Beach Life!!

Straight after flying in from barcelona from the Nickleodeon cruise, the next morning took me to sunny Western Super-mare, maybe a wrong spelling but im sure everyone knows where it is. I shot a lifestyle shoot for my commercial book with Andy Smith. We really wanted hot hot sun to make it look like california (as if!) but we got over cast and muggy in true british sea side weather. Anyways i was really pleased with the shots as i got to show off some hair skills which is unusual on a life style shoot.
Take a look at some behind the scenes and some of the finished shots:

Nickleodeon ICarly & Victorious Cruise!

This last few weeks has been a whirlwind of adventures. Last week i went away with Nickleodeon TV to film aboard the Nickleodeon All Access Cruise. On the cruise were the adorable US presenter and stars Tom Kenny the voice of sponge bob quare pants and face of patchy the pirate, Jeanette McCurdy & Nathan Cress of ICarly and Daniella Monet, Leon Thomas & Avan Jogia of Victorious. Ardell Lashes supplied all the lashes for the ladies which where great and stayed on perfectly even on the windy days, which there were many. Heres some behind the scenes snaps to get an idea of the day to day life on a cruise with 1500 children, sponge bob square pants, dora the explora and patchy the pirate!:

All the crew with Patchy the Pirate!

The sun shone bright in Florence and the Pirates beard started to melt off!!!

Its a rap, the final day of filming with huge thunders storms.

The Hair and Make up department leave the boat, with two hours sleep and wobbly legs!

Jeanette McCurdy & Nathan Cress brave the downpour like true professionals

Creating glossy glamour makeup at Princes Trust Lipstick shoot.

I have already posted some of the behind the scenes for this shoot. They pics have now been released to press and here they are. The beautiful Tallulah Adeyemi and Ana Araujo modelling for us.
I created a glossy skin tone by mixing MAC stobe creme into the foundation and lathered the ladies in a new product called moisturising oil by vaseline intensive. It gives an amazing sheen to the skin when the light hits. The lipstick itself was a good colour but needed to be built up if you want a strong colour, its a perfect day lipstick. Enjoy!

Behind scenes in Hackney freezing Marshes

This week our shoot got featured in VICE STYLE. This time it was called "Beyond the black"
Whatever its called, its a really strong shoot. So i thought i'd post the behind the scenes and a few close ups on my work.  To achieve the light to dark contours on the face i used a good MAC base with a powder over the top to give a matt finish. I then decided to use face paint, by MAC, for the black on the eyes and a Ben Nye white face paint that i applied on the cheek bones to give a theatrical highlight. The lips were blotted out with the foundation and then i drew the black T shape on with liquid eyeliner.
Lucie Red, the stylist, already had a good idea of what she was aiming for. She wanted tribal, ritualistic looking make up and i created something quite dark and sexy with that.
Here we are on shoot in the depths of an english winter!
